Pilings & Barge Work

Piling driving and marine construction from our own work barge and push boat.

Haywood Marine work barge with an excavator and pilings on board under a blue sky

Most marine jobs start with pilings, and most pilings are easiest to set from the water. Haywood Marine runs its own work barge, with an excavator on deck and a push boat to move it, so the crew can reach sites that are hard or impossible to get to by land.

The barge carries pilings, lumber and stone to the site and holds the excavator steady while it works. That’s how the piers, bulkheads and revetments on this site were built.

Need pilings replaced under an existing structure, or mooring pilings set? Call and describe the job.

FAQ

Pilings & Barge Work: common questions.

Don’t see your question? Call Vaughan at (804) 815-3069.

Why does working from a barge matter?

It keeps heavy equipment off your yard, gets materials to sites with no land access and lets the excavator reach the full length of a pier or wall line.

Can you replace just a few bad pilings?

Call and describe the structure. Replacing pilings under an existing dock is often possible.
